Enhanced Children's Critical Illness Cover

Children from birth to age 22, or 23 if in full time education, are covered for child-specific conditions plus our main critical illness conditions, total permanent disability (50% of the amount of Critical Illness Cover, up to £50,000) and the additional conditions currently available on our Critical Illness Cover (50% of the amount of Critical Illness Cover, up to £35,000). This level of cover also includes terminal illness and pays £10,000 on the death of a child. You and your children will also be covered for an extra additional condition – pregnancy complications (£5,000 for each affected pregnancy).

Standard Children's Critical Illness Cover

Children from birth to age 22, or 23 if in full time education, are covered for child-specific conditions plus our main critical illness conditions currently available on our Critical Illness Cover plus total permanent disability and terminal illness (50% of the amount of Critical Illness Cover, up to £30,000). We'll also pay £5,000 on the death of a child.

No Children's Critical Illness Cover

If you don’t have any children, or if you don’t have immediate plans to start a family, you can choose not to have Children's Critical Illness Cover as part of your plan.

Our definition of children includes legally adopted children and financially dependent children up to the age of 22, or 23 if in full time education, (whether born before or after the start date of the plan).

If you make a claim for your child, it doesn’t affect your main Critical Illness Cover.

Helping Hand

With a Royal London Menu Plan, you’ll have access to our Helping Hand support service.

Helping Hand includes a wellbeing support service, designed to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. It gives the plan owners online access to a range of hand-picked early care medical services, so you have the help and advice you need to stay fit and healthy and help stop small health issues becoming a big problem.

A Helping Hand with recovery

If you (the plan owner), or your partner and children, are going through a difficult time, such as a serious illness, injury or bereavement, Helping Hand will also be there to offer support – even if you don’t make a claim. You can contact RedArc, who’ll give you access to a dedicated nurse. They’ll provide tailored and personal support whenever it’s needed, for as long as it’s needed.

Helping Hand is a package of support services and each service is provided by third parties that aren’t regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or the Prudential Regulation Authority. These services aren’t part of our terms and conditions and don’t form part of your insurance contract with us, so can be amended or withdrawn at any time. This means that you or your family’s access to these services could be amended or withdrawn by us in the future.
