Children's Critical Illness Cover

If you have Life or Critical Illness Cover or Critical Illness Cover you can choose to cover your children with our Children’s Critical Illness Cover. We offer three levels of cover to meet your needs and budget. And if your needs change, you can add or remove it easily over the phone – without giving us any medical information.

Enhanced Children's Critical Illness Cover

Children from birth to age 21 are covered for 12 child-specific conditions plus 45 main critical illness conditions (50% of the amount of Critical Illness Cover, up to £50,000) and the 14 additional conditions currently available on our Critical Illness Cover (25% of the amount of Critical Illness Cover, up to £25,000). This level of cover also includes terminal illness and pays £5,000 on the death of a child. You and your children will also be covered for an extra additional condition – pregnancy complications (£5,000 for each affected pregnancy).

Standard Children's Critical Illness Cover

Children from birth to age 21 are covered for 45 main conditions currently available on our Critical Illness Cover (50% of the amount of Critical Illness Cover, up to £25,000).

No Children's Critical Illness Cover

If you don’t have any children, or if you don’t have immediate plans to start a family, you can choose not to have Children's Critical Illness Cover as part of your plan.

Our definition of children includes legally adopted children and financially dependent children up to the age of 21 (whether born before or after the start date of the plan).

If you make a claim for your child, it doesn’t affect your main Critical Illness Cover.
