Help and support

We're doing all we can to help and support our customers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. So we wanted to reassure you about the life insurance, insurance and savings policies that you’ve taken out with us.

Insurance policies

You can find detailed information for your life or insurance product by choosing the option that applies to you in the information and support for your product section.

Claims

If you’re worried about whether you’re covered for coronavirus under your life policy, we’d like to reassure you that claiming on your Life Cover or Life Insurance for death due to coronavirus is valid, as long as the terms and conditions agreed under your plan are met.

Our life policies don’t contain exclusions in relation to pandemics or the contraction of a virus in a foreign country.

For information about how coronavirus may affect an Income Protection or Critical Illness claim, please visit our help and support for insurance products taken out since 2004 via a financial adviser page.

Savings and investment products

We’re still seeing significant swings in global financial markets as a result of fears over the spread of coronavirus and the containment measures being put in place.

It's likely that you'll have seen this come through in the value of your investment or ISA, which might have dropped.

Making decisions based on what’s happening in the short term can be a risky thing to do. It might be tempting for example to move investments into cash for a while – but in doing that, you might miss out on the point when the value goes back up – so you could lose out in the long term.

Selecting an unsuitable investment could have a significant effect on the value of your pension savings. If you're worried about your investments and are considering switching investments, speak to your adviser first.
