What is a Pensions Dashboard?

The UK Government is introducing a free online service which will allow people to securely view all of their pensions in one place. This includes any personal pensions, workplace pensions, and the State Pension.

The dashboard will provide a clear view of current pensions savings, estimated retirement income, and more. It aims to help people understand what pensions they have, their value and to better plan for their retirement.

The dashboard is set to launch through the Money and Pension Service sometime in 2026.

What will the Pensions Dashboard do?

Reconnect people with lost or forgotten pensions

Show an estimated retirement income

Provide clear and simple pension information

How will the Pensions Dashboard work?

Once the service is live, you'll register on the MoneyHelper website using a secure GOV.UK One log in.

The dashboard will search all UK providers using your information and display any matching pensions.

The Pension Dashboard is mostly informational, so you'll need to make any transactions with your pension provider as normal.

What you can view on the Pensions Dashboard

The Pensions Dashboard will use your details to search for pensions across all UK based providers. For all your returned matches, you'll be able to see:

  • all your pension providers, including the State Pension
  • start dates
  • employer names
  • current pension values
  • your estimated retirement income place on a timeline.

The Pensions Dashboard will not show pensions that have already paid out.

Frequently asked questions

You don't need to do anything right now. If you're a Royal London customer, we'll connect any pensions to the Pensions Dashboard on your behalf.

It's a good idea to make sure your personal details are up to date ready for the connection. You can update your pension plan details using our online form.

We've been working with the Money and Pensions Service to link all of our relevant policies to the Pensions Dashboard.

We can connect the scheme on behalf of the trustees in advance of the connection date if you would like us to. Details of our connection approach and how you can opt in to the service can be found on our trustee duties for Pensions Dashboard page.

Royal London will connect all personal pension policies. This includes those part of a contract based scheme.
