Commenting on the announcement from the Prime Minister on the future of health and social care, Jamie Jenkins, Director of Policy & External Affairs at Royal London, said:

“As we are living longer, how to pay for the social care support needed in later life is something thousands of families have worried about, and grappled with for many years. While there will no doubt be further debate over the funding model proposed, today’s announcement will hopefully bring certainty to how social care will be delivered in future, providing a much needed framework for the sector.

“What matters now is to create a system that works for those who need it most, and build a solid foundation to provide products, guidance and advice so people can plan effectively.”
