Apply for our Stocks and Shares ISA
Find out what you need to know before you apply for our Stocks and Shares ISA.
Check if you can apply online
To apply online for our Stocks and Shares ISA you'll need to be:
- 18 years old or over
- a UK resident
- a Royal London pension customer since 2004 or have a Scottish Life pension.
If you have a pension with us opened before 2004, you'll need to download and complete the application form (PDF).
Making payments
You can open your ISA with a minimum of:
- £50 a month and/or
- a single contribution of £500 and/or
- an ISA transfer of any amount.
You can pay into more than one stocks and shares ISA per tax year.
The maximum you can pay into all your ISAs before you start paying tax is £20,000. This is called an ISA allowance.
Choosing your investments
If you apply through our mobile app, you can get our help with investing using our free Targeted Support service.
Alternatively, you'll need to choose where your money is invested: either in one of our ready-made Governed Portfolios, or by selecting from our full list of investment options.
You can change where your money is invested at any time.
The value of your ISA could go down as well as up, so you could get back less than what you paid in.
