Royal London applies for planning permission for new car park
31 July 2015
Royal London, Wilmslow’s largest employer, has entered a planning application for a new car park on the Alderley Road campus site. The new permanent car park would be on the site of the current temporary car park. Like the temporary car park that it replaces, the new facility will not be visible from outside the Royal London site.
Royal London has already entered a planning application for a car park with Wilmslow Town Council. This separate application is to create a car park at the front of the Alderley Road site.
Royal London, Head of Procurement & Facilities, Neil Kilshaw said:
“We have been discussing our plans with the Council. Once it becomes clear which of our two planning applications the Council favours we will withdraw the other application.”
Royal London already has an ambitious Green Travel Plan which encourages car-sharing and there is a regular shuttle bus to and from the station. However, the company is expanding rapidly and we need to provide permanent parking spaces for our people, many of whom travel from other parts of East Cheshire and beyond.
