Clean Slate

Emmie Jenkins Hill

Clean Slate Training & Employment helps people on low incomes to become better off by supporting people in financial hardship to rethink how they might manage their money, find work or better work, and get online.

Clean Slate has supported low-income individuals for over 15 years with training, 1-2-1 coaching, and paid work opportunities. Their Quids in! initiative offers a magazine, guides, finance emails, and interactive web content, including the Future-Proof Finance Quiz, tailored for social tenants, unemployed people, and benefit claimants.

They have built a toolkit that benchmarks financial resilience and creates a tailored action plan to improve people’s financial wellbeing. With a network of 2,500 professionals (opens in a new window), they involve all community stakeholders such as housing officers, public sector staff, health professionals, service providers and policymakers in their mission to tackle poverty.

Clean Slate helps people with their daily financial needs, offers guidance and support, and builds their skills and confidence to work, take control of their lives, and improve their wellbeing. Our purpose is to tackle poverty. Our mission is to create meaningful, measurable change for better lives. Our vision is a world where everyone can provide for themselves and their families.

I’m really excited to join the Changemakers programme and to develop a digital toolkit, accessed from devices in healthcare settings, that will significantly extend both our reach and impact.
