  • Three additional funds take the Royal London Sustainable Fund range to nine
  • All nine funds are available for both Royal London pension offerings and Royal London ISA investments
  • The funds offer investors access to the SDR Sustainable Focus label

Royal London, the UK's largest life, pensions and investment mutual, today announces the launch of three additional sustainable funds, as it continues to enhance its investment proposition.

Available for investment via both the Royal London ISA and Royal London Pension offerings, the launch of the RLS Sustainable Growth, RLS Sustainable Short Duration Corporate Bond, and RLS Global Sustainable Credit funds expands the Royal London Sustainable Range to nine*.

The funds are managed by Royal London Asset Management, which has over 20 years' experience of managing sustainable investment, and provides investors with access to underlying strategies carrying the SDR Sustainable Focus label1. The Sustainability Focus label demonstrates how sustainability considerations are consistently integrated into investment decisions, helping investors make informed decisions.

Investment process: focus on sustainability and financials

The fund manager researches each potential investment to decide if it’s suitable from a sustainability perspective and financially. Financial analysis is tailored to each asset class. The approach centres on four sustainability themes. For the UK funds, this means considering sustainable companies that are clean, healthy, safe and inclusive. For the offshore fund, this means considering companies that are cleaner, healthier, safer and more inclusive.

Andrew Kitchen, Head of Responsible Investment Proposition at Royal London, said:

"We constantly review and evolve our propositions to ensure they continue to meet customer needs and expectations. These new funds reinforce our position as a purpose-driven mutual, with a clear focus on playing our part in moving fairly to a sustainable world.

"We believe that sustainable investing makes sense for the benefit of wider society and the environment – as well as financially."

The launch is the latest enhancement to Royal London's investment proposition, as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting positive customer outcomes. Earlier this year, Royal London announced an increased target equity allocation for younger customers within the growth stage of all target lifestyle strategies.

1. The SDR labels apply to Royal London Asset Management's UK-based funds. One of the underlying sustainable funds – the Royal London Global Sustainable Credit Fund – is an offshore fund regulated in Ireland, which means it doesn’t have a label. While the investment processes differ, the sustainable approach is the same across all the funds.
