Commenting on today’s publication of documents relating to the event of a no-deal Brexit Helen Morrissey spokesperson for Royal London said:

"Though it is good to see that employees living and working in the UK for UK or EU employers will continue to be protected when it comes to employer insolvency, there appears to be some uncertainty for those who work outside the UK in an EU country for a UK employer. The document merely states that the worker “may still be protected” under a national guarantee fund but that there are “variations in how each EU country has implemented the guarantee.” Such a situation risks British workers in Europe facing a lottery when it comes to their employment rights – this needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency."
