RLAM expands global high yield team
10 August 2016
Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) today announces the expansion of its global high yield team with the appointments of a new fund manager, a senior credit analyst and two assistant credit analysts, ahead of the launch of a multi asset credit fund.
RLAM’s Multi Asset Credit Fund, which has been designed to meet the needs of institutional clients, will comprise a directly invested, globally diversified portfolio concentrating on the ‘alternative’ part of the credit universe. Asset classes will include secured and unsecured high yield debt, loans, asset backed securities and emerging market debt.
Khuram Sharih joins as fund manager, focusing on leveraged loans and alternative credit. He joins from Newton Investment Management, where he worked with their fixed income and global multi asset teams. Khuram was previously a senior credit analyst at Cairn Capital and held roles at Denali Capital and JP Morgan in the US.
Sebastien Poulin joins as a senior credit analyst with a remit split between high yield and leveraged loans. Sebastien joins from Principal Global Investors where he covered both high yield and leveraged loans. Sebastien’s previous roles were at Newton Investment Management, Standard & Poor’s and BNP Paribas.
Gary Ewen and Tom Elliott will also be joining to bolster RLAM’s multi asset credit capabilities. Gary was an investment analyst at Mercer and Tom was a high yield credit analyst at Debtwire.
Welcoming the new team members, head of global high yield, Azhar Hussain commented:
“This significant expansion of the global high yield and leveraged loans capability at RLAM signals our commitment to offer clients a diversified approach to investing in credit. We think this is particularly valuable in an environment where government and corporate bond yields are at an all-time low.”
