With our tailored plans you can mix and match a range of covers to suit you and your family's needs and budget.
You can choose different types of cover for different amounts and different lengths of time. So, whatever stage in life you're at, you can adapt your cover to suit. Whether it's protecting your mortgage, family or the lifestyle you've built - our plans can be tailored to you.
These plans are only available through an independent financial adviser. They can help you explore how to protect yourself and your family against the financial consequences of dying, becoming critically ill, or not being able to work because of illness or injury.
Please note: Your plan doesn’t have a cash-in value at any time and if you stop paying your premiums your cover will stop.
Some benefits of our tailored plans
Choice and flexibility
Mix and match a range of covers to suit your needs and budget. For example, you could combine Income Protection with Life Cover to make sure you've a regular income to help cover expenses if you were unable to work or to pay your mortgage.
Option to take out cover with your partner
You can choose different owners for each separate cover under the same plan, which allows for cover to be tailored to each person. This means that one of the lives could be covered for more or for longer.
Setting up a plan with two single owners rather than one joint owner means that cover can continue should one person need to claim.
Family income benefit
You can opt to receive any potential Life Cover or Critical Illness Cover claim as an income rather than a lump sum which could result in reduced premiums.
Cover for 60 critical illnesses, including the most common reasons for claim (cancer, heart attack, stroke, children's critical illness and multiple sclerosis)
Practical and emotional support
Our tailored plans come with Helping Hand, a support service that gives you access to a dedicated nurse who can help you and your family during difficult times.
Pays out if you die or are diagnosed with a terminal illness that meets our definition.
Life or Critical Illness Cover
Pays out a lump sum or income if you die or are diagnosed with a critical illness, or if you're diagnosed with a terminal illness or total permanent disability, covered by your plan, whichever happens first.
Critical Illness Cover
Critical Illness Cover pays out if you're diagnosed with a critical illness we cover or are diagnosed with a total permanent disability that meets our definition.
Children's Critical Illness Cover
If you have Life or Critical Illness Cover or Critical Illness Cover you can choose to cover your children with our Children’s Critical Illness Cover. We offer three levels of cover to meet your needs and budget.
Pays out a monthly amount if you're unable to do your job due to an illness or injury that's covered by your plan and meets our definition.
We believe good protection is about more than just money.
That’s why all our plans bought through an independent financial adviser come with Helping Hand - a comprehensive support service that gives you access to a dedicated nurse should you experience illness, injury or bereavement during the term of your plan.
Your dedicated nurse can recommend a number of additional services if they think it’s going to help. For example:
- A second medical opinion
- Support recovering from a heart attack
- Speech and language therapy after a stroke
- Complementary therapies to help manage symptoms or help with recovery
- Bereavement counselling and support
Helping Hand is available to use from the day your plan starts – not just when making a claim. It doesn't cost anything extra to use and your family (partner and children) can use it too.
We also offer access to independent career, legal and medical helplines to support you when you need advice or a professional opinion.
Helping Hand is a package of support services, provided by third parties that aren’t regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. These services aren’t part of our terms and conditions, so can be amended or withdrawn at any time.
Waiver of Premium (Sickness)
Waiver of Premium (Sickness) is available as an add-on to our tailored plans and we automatically include it if you choose Income Protection.
This means if you have an accident or illness that leaves you unable to work or carry out a number of tasks, you won't have to worry about your monthly policy payments as we’ll pay these for you. You can decide the amount of time between you stopping work and us paying your premiums. The choices are 4, 8, 13, 26 or 52 weeks.
