We go to great lengths to ensure our people have the help they need to stay healthy and safe and are offered opportunities to advance their careers.
We also ensure our people are rewarded for their contribution and have the opportunity to give us feedback about working for us.
We offer career prospects without discrimination and have established policies for recruitment, training, development and flexible working. We make sure our people have the help and support they need to stay healthy and safe. We want everybody who works at Royal London to feel pride and a sense of belonging.
Employee assistance programme
In 2011 we launched a new Employee Support Helpline. This is a free, confidential and independent service designed to provide professional help, information, support and advice for employees and their immediate families. The helpline is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Health and safety
We do our utmost to ensure Royal London is a safe place to work. Our health initiatives include:
- free eye and hearing tests
- first aid support
- risk assessments for all staff; and
- free seasonal flu jabs for employees.
We have appointed ‘4See Risk Management’ for health and safety support and assistance. We have also engaged FirstCare, one of the UK’s leading occupational health and absence management specialists, to deliver our occupational health support and advice services.
Learning and development
Our SMART performance management cycle ensures we set clear, measurable objectives for all employees, with the annual performance appraisal assessing them against their objectives. The output from the performance process is used throughout the year to assist with career development and remuneration.
