Bereavement and your finances - research project
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page about our bereavement research project.
We contacted you as you made a claim on a Royal London life insurance policy or pension within the last two years. This may have been taken out through another brand that is now part of the Royal London Group, such as Refuge Assurance, United Friendly or Royal Liver.
Over the next couple of weeks, Royal London hopes to carry out a number of research interviews with people like you who have made a claim following bereavement. We know that bereavement can have a big impact on people’s finances and we’re looking to understand what support we could offer that would be useful and valuable.
We would like to invite you to share your views on what would have helped you both at the time of bereavement and in the months that followed. However, you are under no obligation to take part in this research. At no point will we ever ask you to provide any personal information.
What we are doing
We have asked an independent market research company called Acumen Fieldwork, working with Trajectory Partnership, to contact potential participants on our behalf. You may receive a call inviting you to take part, however if you know you would like to be involved please contact Charlotte Leary at Acumen on 0161 234 9940; Charlotte will assist you with more information and arrange your appointment at a time and location which suits you best.
The research involves a face-to-face interview either in your home or at a venue you are happy with (for example, a coffee shop). We’d like to hear your views on how we handled your claim, what additional help you would have valued and to gain your responses to some new bereavement support services we may introduce in the future. Your feedback is extremely valuable and as a token of appreciation you will be paid £60 in cash for helping with the research.
Your privacy is assured
Royal London and the independent research companies we work with operate in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act and the Code of Conduct of the Market Research Society.
This means that your identity and contact details will be treated in strict confidence. At no time during or after this research will any attempt be made to sell you any products or services as a result of your participation and under no circumstances will your name and address be passed to any other third party. Royal London will also not be made aware of who has taken part in the research, so you can provide your feedback in the strictest of confidence.
If you would prefer not to receive similar communications from Royal London, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
